01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

When seafood paella is the main event, order a few tapas and a beer first; waiting for the pan to be ready can be part of the meal. Diners at Bar cerez have praised the seafood flavour carried through the rice, as well as the crisp, browned rice left on the hot plate. Another visitor singled out the rice’s al dente texture. Alongside the seafood paella, the menu offers a saffron-infused Mix paella for one, so diners can choose according to party size and the ingredients they fancy.

While the paella cooks, warm tapas make an appealing start. Options include a mixed ajillo with prawns, whelk and mushrooms, and chicken with garlic flavoured with sherry vinegar. The ajillo comes with bread, which one diner also enjoyed. For something slow-cooked, there is callos, a stew of beef tendon and tripe; one visitor liked it enough to order another portion. It is a good choice for a meal built around sharing several small plates.

Mushrooms stuffed with cured ham are another dish that visitors have picked out as a favourite. To drink, there is sangria in red or white, as well as Spanish beer and cava. One diner paired cured ham with cava, a combination that suits an evening of grazing on small plates and choosing a Spanish drink to go with them.

The restaurant is on the 3 floor of a building. One visitor cautioned that the stairs are steep. The entrance and seating are not wheelchair accessible, so this is worth checking before planning a visit.
